Family Services
Family
Service Coordinators and other staff are available to help families with a wide
variety of needs. We can provide referrals to many community resources or help
directly. We provide education and support to promote positive mental health in
adults and children. Families are encouraged to work with staff in assessing
their strengths and needs, and developing a plan to achieve any goals they may
have for themselves, their child, and/or family. Families come in all shapes
and sizes. Our goal is to work with each
family to build upon strengths they already have and to assist them with any
struggles their may be having, so that they are better able to focus energies
on their children’s learning.
Family Service
Coordinators are available to discuss these issues.
Head
Start recognizes that children learn by example. Education is a life long
learning process. We encourage adults to take the opportunity to continue in
the education process. Information is available on assistance to work with
parents in improving their reading and math skills, completing the High School
Equivalency Exam, better preparing themselves for the workforce, or increasing
their employment and career options. We
can also help with ideas for how to work with a child at home to promote their
school and reading readiness, and encourage them to make learning and reading
important and fun parts of their lives.
We encourage parents to ask staff for ideas and
resources.
As parents grow and develop, their child will too.
Parents are the best role models for their children.
